Nineteen students from Eastside High School’s Model General Assembly program attended an event last week in Coeburn to meet Todd Pillion, shown at far right, a candidate in the special election to fill the vacant House District Four seat. Pillion, a Republican dentist and business owner from Washington County, is running against Democrat Donnie Rife, a Dickenson County supervisor, in the Dec. 9 election. At far left is Model General Assembly sponsor and attorney Chuck Slemp. In the front row center is MGA sponsor, Eastside teacher Susan Mullins. Those in the back row include state Dels. Terry Kilgore and Israel O’Quinn and state Sen. Bill Carrico.
