Box 3499, Wise, Virginia 24293 is applying to the Virginia Division of Mined Land Reclamation (VDMLR) for a Phase III Final Bond Release on VDMLR Permit No. 1301590 by Application No. 1005929. The permit is located in Wise County, ±0.3 miles northeast of Dunbar along Roaring Fork, on the Norton, VA USGS 7.5 minute topographic quadrangle map. The permit consists of 28.1 acres bonded under the Virginia Coal Surface Mining Reclamation Fund (Pool Bond). The permit is currently bonded at $75,900 in the form of insurance surety. As provided by 4 VAC 25-130-800.40 of the Virginia Coal Surface Mining Reclamation Regulations, the Applicant is requesting that the current total bond amount held be released.
This final bond release request is based on the following reclamation:
1. The permit has been regraded and revegetated.
2. Seeding was completed in 2000, and trees were planted in 2000.
3. The reclamation conducted supports the postmining land use of unmanaged forest.
4. The postmining land uses have been implemented.

The proposed underground amended PMU is located to the west and northeast of the current PMU area, south of Route 83 at the headwaters of Meade Fork and Georges Fork in Wise and Dickenson County.
