SURFACE MINING

BLASTING SCHEDULE

In compliance with Section V816.64 of Virginia Coal Surface Mining Regulations, notice is hereby given the A&G Coal Corporation, P.O. Box 1010, Wise, Virginia 24293, having been issued Surface Mine Permit 1101954, located approximately one mile Northwest of Imboden Virginia in Bearpen Branch in Wise County, will be conducting blasting on the area covered by the permit. Blasting will be in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws and will commence according to the following schedule of dates and times as approved by the regulatory authority.

May 8, 2014 – May 8, 2015

Monday-Saturday

8am-Sunset

Access to the blasting area will be controlled to prevent unauthorized entry at least ten (10) minutes prior to any blasting event. A warning signal indicated by three long blasts on an air horn will be sounded to clear the area. Then another warning signal indicated by two long blasts on an air horn, two-minute delay, then one long horn blast prior to the blasting and an all-clear signal indicated by three short blasts will be audible within a range on one-half mile from the point of the blast in accordance with applicable State and Federal laws.

Also, blasting will not be conducted at times other that those announced except in emergency situations where rain, lightning, atmospheric conditions, or operator or public safety requires unscheduled detonation as approved by the regulatory authority.

ACCEPTING SEALED BIDS

The Jenkins Independent School District has been granted tentative authority by the Kentucky Department of Education to dispose of, as surplus property, the McRoberts Elementary School property located at 55 B Ball Drive, McRoberts, Kentucky 41835.

OF SUPERVISORS

Pursuant to the Virginia Public Procurement Act, the Wise County Board of Supervisors invites proposals from qualified firms/individuals for general professional engineering services required to support a variety of solid waste infrastructure projects. Wise County proposes to award an annual contract (with four optional annual renewals) for various project management, engineering (civil, geotechnical, environmental, mechanical and electrical), surveying, monitoring/testing and other related services. Services are anticipated to include general consulting and oversight, project design, permitting, representation with regulatory agencies, etc….

SURFACE MINING

BLASTING SCHEDULE

In compliance with Section V25-130-816.64 of Virginia Coal Surface Mining Regulations, notice is hereby given the A&G Coal Corporation, P.O. Box 1010, Wise, Virginia 24293, having been issued Surface Mine Permit 1101905, will be conducting blasting on the area covered by the permit located in Wise County approximately 2.1 miles northeast of the Exeter community, approximately 310 feet from the Lower Exeter community and approximately 1.7 miles west of the Inman community. Blasting will be in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws and will commence according to the following schedule of dates and times as approved by the regulatory authority.

May 8, 2014 – May 8, 2015

Monday-Saturday

8am-Sunset

Access to the blasting area will be controlled to prevent unauthorized entry at least ten (10) minutes prior to any blasting event. A warning signal indicated by three long blasts on an air horn will be sounded to clear the area. Then another warning signal indicated by two long blasts on an air horn, two-minute delay, then one long horn blast prior to the blasting and an all-clear signal indicated by three short blasts will be audible within a range on one-half mile from the point of the blast in accordance with applicable State and Federal laws.

Also, blasting will not be conducted at times other that those announced except in emergency situations where rain, lightning, atmospheric conditions, or operator or public safety requires unscheduled detonation as approved by the regulatory authority.
