POSITION OPEN– DEPUTY ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER Full-time, Starting salary depends on qualifications and experience.

Wise County is accepting applications to fill the vacancy of Deputy Animal Control Officer. This position enforces ordinances and laws pertaining to animals, deals with animal complaints, helps to protect County residents and animals; assists in the supervision of the Animal Shelter operations and related work as required.

Required Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities: Handling of Animals; Animal Control Laws; geography of Wise County; proper use of firearms; good physical condition; ability to deal with the public and write routine reports.

Requirements: High School graduate or GED and some experience in work involving the care of animals; valid driver's license; pass physical abilities test, drug screening, criminal background check, stable work record, complete NIMS (National Incident Management) IS100, and lS700 training within 90 days, and the Basic Animal Training Course.
