Pound plans holiday events

December 02, 2020

The town of Pound and town businesses are planning two Christmas season events, with the first set for Dec. 6.

During town council’s Nov. 24 meeting, Mayor Stacey Carson explained that the Dec. 6 event, from 5-7 p.m., will be a reverse Christmas parade. People will stay in their vehicles. Treats will be given out. The goal is to have volunteers and business owners stationed outside.

Carson said organizers aim to have another 5-7 p.m. event Dec. 20 that would include public recognition of Teddy Powers, a town resident and avid horseman who passed away in October. Organizers hope to offer horse-drawn carriage rides and to give away donated Teddy bears.
