RAYMOND HAROLD EASTERLING

Raymond Harold Easterling, 86, of Wise, entered into the loving arms of Jesus during the morning hours of Thursday, July 22, 2021. Raymond was born on September 3, 1934 in Coeburn, VA to the late Thomas William and Danese Virginia (Asbury) Easterling.

Raymond was a race car driver in his teenage years before the NASCAR era. He was a mechanic, coal truck operator and coal miner. He loved to work.

In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by his wife, Nina Faye (Robinson) Easterling; son, Billy Ray Easterling; six brothers, William Thomas Easterling, Ralph Lee Easterling, Bobby Easterling, Donald Ray Easterling, Thomas Darrell Easterling, and Edgar Allen Easterling; and sister, Hazel (Easterling) Ramsey.

Left to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Jeanette Easterling and Elizabeth Danese (Easterling) Collins and husband Ronald; three grandchildren, Audri Easterling, Nicolby Rose, and Colton Collins; special great-grandson, Braylien Easterling; four great-grandchildren, Hunter, Connor, Layla, and Ava; half-sister, Helen Fay (Lawson) Riggan and husband Buster; special niece, Judy (Easterling) McIntosh; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Also, his long time furry friend, Blackie Bear, will miss their long talks on the porch.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 29 from 1 to 2 p.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church (350 Euclid Ave Bristol, VA 24201). A Funeral Mass will follow at 2 p.m. Raymond will be entombed at St Anne Catholic Church Cemetery following the funeral mass.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to special caretaker, Diane Cockerham for the compassionate and loving care that was both given and shown to Raymond in his time of need.
