DONNA HUBBARD WILSON

Donna Hubbard Wilson, 79, of Sorrento Florida, Passed away on June 12, 2022. Donna was born on October 16, 1942, in Norton, Virginia to her parents; Robert Carson Hubbard and June (Ellison) Hubbard.

Donna and her high school sweetheart; Bobby Joe Wilson, spent 60 loving years together until his passing in August of 2021.

Upon her high school graduation from John I. Burton high school, Donna moved to Washington D.C. to begin her career as a Civil Servant with the Federal Government. She was transferred to Atlanta, Georgia where she spent 30 years with the Center for Disease Control as a Team Director for OPPE NIOSH and OSHA until her retirement.

Donna was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Flower and Garden Club. In retirement she lived in Blairsville, Ga, until 2017 when she moved to Florida to spend more time with her son and Grandchildren. She was quite the animal lover and always had pets throughout her life, she loved her cat, Noelle, very much.

Donna is survived by her loving son, Stephen D. Wilson and his wife Angela of Winter Garden, FL.; two beloved grandchildren; Colton and McKenzie Wilson, her nieces, Linda Fuller, Sherrie Hubbard, and nephew, Philip Hubbard.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents; Carson and June Hubbard, and her brother; Gary Hubbard.

The family will receive friends at 12:30 p.m. Friday, June 24 at the Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home in Norton. Her funeral service will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with the Reverend Jim Collie officiating. Burial will follow in the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens.
