BARBARA O’CONNOR

Barbara F. (Faye Thacker) O’Connor entered eternal rest on September 2, 2022. Faye was born in Dunbar Virginia on August 16, 1938 to Richard and Dolly Thacker.

Faye is survived by her only son Howard “Rick” Collier, his wife Kathleen Collier, granddaughters Danielle, Katelyn, and Alyssa and her great granddaughter Maddison. She is also survived by her stepchildren Walter O’Connor, Timothy O’Connor, Michael O’Connor, Bridget Simpson, and Patricia Bowers along with all twelve of their children. Of her seven siblings Faye is survived by one brother and two sisters Darrell “Ray” Thacker, Linda Cunningham, and Theresa Gannaway.

Faye lived her life in Virginia, Michigan, Florida, and Maryland. She was predeceased by her husband and love of her life Walter J. (Doc) O’Connor. Faye was a very knowledgeable bookkeeper. Even after retirement she continued to have numbers running through her head while crocheting, playing Sudoku, and her beloved Bingo. She remained very sharp minded and physically fit right up until the end, continuing to drive and living independently. We will all miss her love, her sense of humor, her kindness, and her wonderful chicken & dumplings and her lemon meringue and Key lime pies.
