4th Gen Fuels LLC of 29 Grays Branch Road, Grays Knob, KY 40829 is applying to the Virginia Mined Land Repurposing Program for a Renewal of PERMIT No. 1302377, in order to continue the operations at the following location.
The Paragon Tipple is located approximately 2 miles Northeast of Appalachia at Kelly View, Wise County, at coordinates North 3522678.12, East 10241348.71. This operation encroaches within 0 feet on both the northside and southside of Highway 23 (Kent Junction Road). The permit area is 11.40 acres and is contained on the Appalachia and Norton USGS 7.5' quadrangle maps. The Renewal map showing the permit area is attached in Section 21.2 of the application.
Drainage and wastewater resulting from the permitted operation will be discharged into Powell River, via sediment pond treating surface runoff and mine discharge. The discharge location may be viewed on the Point Data Map, which is attached in Section 21.2 of the application. The discharge resulting from the permitted operation is existing.
Any person with a valid legal interest which might be adversely affected by this proposal, or an officer or head of any federal, state or local government agency or authority, may within 30 days of December 13, 2022 submit written comments or objections concerning this application, and may also request, in writing, that the Mined Land Repurposing Program hold an Informal Conference concerning this application.
