LILLIAN PAULINE BOATRIGHT

May 25, 2020

On Saturday, May 23, 2020, God gained another angel, that angel being our beloved mom and grandmother, Lillian Pauline Boatright.

Mom was totally devoted to her children and grandchildren. Words cannot describe the loss that we are feeling. Mom was always there for us. She was not only a mom but also a dad, we lost our dad at a very young age. The struggles and the sacrifices that she endured for her children made her the best mom in the world.

Mom loved the outdoors; she was always working in the garden and her flower beds before her illness took that away. She loved to feed the birds, squirrels and whatever else may have shown up at her little rock in front of the house, she called it Polly’s Diner. Mom enjoyed going to church and singing in the choir with all her church friends at Trinity Life Center. We will always have her with us in our hearts and memories.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Viola Salyers; husband, Donald Ray Boatright Sr.; sisters, Betty Salyers, Nettie Nolan, Virginia Salyers and Ruth Stout; and brothers, Ed Burwick, Robert Salyers, Bob Salyers, Hobert Salyers and Carlos Salyers.

Surviving are her children, Donald Boatright Jr. and wife Donna, Roy Boatright and wife Linda, Wanda Wright, Steve Boatright, Ronald Boatright and wife Pam, and Joyce McMillan and husband Darren; grandchildren, Paxton Wright and wife Amanda, Jason Boatright and wife Jessica, Joseph Boatright, Robbie Boatright, Preston Boatright, Stacy Boatright, and Rachel Carter and husband John; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Alexis, Olivia, Dalton, Savannah, Austin, and Ryan Rose; gran-fur baby, Kitty Jewel McMillan; brothers, Thomas Salyers and wife Linda of Roanoke, VA and Billy Salyers of Norfolk, VA; special friend, Barbara Price; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family would like to say a special Thank You to the staff at Wise Heritage Hall, NCH Med Surg 1 and NCH ICU.

Burial will be private in the Laurel Grove Cemetery in Norton with Pastor Roger Barker officiating. Please visit www.sturgillfuneral.com to leave online condolences for the family.
