Naturalist rally to go virtual next month

August 10, 2020

The Clinch Coalition launches its 14th annual Naturalist Rally online starting Saturday, Sept. 26.

The virtual rally will continue through that week and will include hikes, presentations, nature arts and crafts made available through the coalition’s Facebook page and website, clinchcoalition.net.

All events are free and open to the public.

The pandemic forces this year's rally to go virtual, organizers said in a press release.

High Knob’s diverse environment has hosted the rally since 2008. It will still be the focal point as participants discover and learn about the unique natural world of Southwest Virginia.

This year, experts, educators and knowledgeable naturalists will present programs through individual 12- to 15-minute segments. Most programs will be recorded in the fields, streams and forest surrounding High Knob.

A full list of presentations and how to access them will be announced at a later date.

The U.S. Forest Service works with The Clinch Coalition to make the High Knob Naturalist Rally possible.
