The Coalfield Progress/UVA Wise tennis tournament announced

Sponsored by The Coalfield Progress and Impressions, Inc., the 2020 UVA Wise Tennis Tournament will take place Thursday, Sept. 3 through Sunday, Sept. 6, at the Jim and Betty Humphreys Tennis Complex. The 2020 version of the tournament will feature singles and doubles events for both high school and adult players. All proceeds from the tournament will benefit the UVA Wise men's and women's tennis programs.

The singles events include men's and women's A, B and 50+ as well as high school level competition. In addition, the doubles events will feature men's, women's, men's and women's 50+, mixed doubles and high school doubles.

The tournament entry fee is $15 per person/per event with each entrant receiving a free t-shirt from Impressions, Inc. The deadline to register is Tuesday, Sept. 1, at 5 p.m. with events limited to two per person.

There will be no seating available at the tennis complex, including under the pavilion. Please bring your own chair if you plan to be a spectator. All participants and fans (10 & over) will be required to wear a mask. If you do not have a mask, one will be provided for you. All players should bring an unopened can of United States Tennis Association (USTA) approved tennis balls for each match. All USTA rules apply for each match of the tournament.

Checks should be made payable to "UVA Wise Tennis".
