BEVERLY LYNN GARRETT

Beverly Lynn Garrett, 61, of Coeburn, passed away Friday, August 28, 2020 fighting a courageous battle of cancer at her home.

She was preceded in death by her father Delmer Smith Sr.; she was a retired staff member of the Virginia Department of Correction; a 1977 graduate of Coeburn High School and of the Methodist faith.

Surviving are her husband, Roger Garrett; a son, Rod (B.J.) Garrett of Coeburn; a daughter, Christy (Jason Bolling) Garrett of Wise; her mother Shirley Williams of Norton; two grandchildren, Hobie Salyers and Brooklyn Garrett; two brothers, Michael Steven Smith and Delmer Smith Jr. both of Dungannon; her father and mother-in-law, J.D. and Thelma Garrett of Coeburn; a devoted companion, Hines Garrett; a sister-in-law, Tessa Humes of MO; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday, September 3 from 1-2 p.m. at the Sturgill Funeral Home, 310 6th Street NW, Coeburn. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Wayne Hager officiating. Burial will follow in the Temple Hill Memorial Park Castlewood.
