The Southwest Virginia Museum Historical State Park and the Friends of the Museum are hosting their annual “Songs of Service” to celebrate the National Day of Service and Remembrance on Friday, September 11 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

“Songs of Service” will feature a performance by the Childress Sisters. The Childress Sisters have been playing as a family band since 2012. Their musical journey started from a few private lessons, then grew even further after attending Mountain Music School located at Mountain Empire Community College in Big Stone Gap.   Donations will be accepted and will benefit the Friends of the Museum.

Participants are required to social distance between those not in the same household. Face coverings are required if you enter the museum for any reason during your visit. In case of inclement weather the event will be canceled.
