HELEN C. (LAWSON) QUILLEN
April 1, 1940 - November 18, 2020
Helen C. (Lawson) Quillen, 80, residing in Sandusky, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by a host of angels on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at Firelands Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness.
Helen was born on April 1, 1940 in Banner, VA to the late Hobert and Lola Mae (Blevins) Lawson.
Helen spent her life as a devout Christian and pastor’s wife, and was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Sandusky. She enjoyed genealogy, video games and ceramics. Helen was a beautiful embroideress and an amazing candy maker. She was an avid traveler of 22 countries, Israel being her favorite, and also enjoyed accompanying her husband on two missionary trips to the Caribbean Islands to help rebuild churches destroyed by hurricanes. Most importantly, she dedicated he life to her family; loved spending time with them, and even helped to build their family home.
Helen is survived by her daughters, Cheryl (Ken) Holbrook and Tammy (Ron) Ward; son, Ron (Margaret) Quillen; seven grandchildren, Eric, Adam, Amanda, Kimberly, Matthew, Nathan and Joshua; 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Helen is preceded in death by her husband, Mark E. Quillen in 2018; sister, Flora Boggs; brother, Dallas Lawson and grandson-in-law, David Benson.
Private family services will be held at the mausoleum in Meadow Green Memorial Park. Pastor Carl Woodyard and Pastor Joe Woodyard will officiate. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron, Ohio.
