MARY EMMA BARKER PARSONS

Mary Emma Barker Parsons, 70, of Appalachia, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 17, 2020 from her home.  Waiting for her in glory were her parents, Robert and Virginia Barker. 

Mary was a God fearing, blessed believer of the Methodist faith and played piano at the Appalachia United Methodist Church.

Mary was also a teacher at Appalachia High School for 32 years. She loved her school and her community.

Mary is survived by her husband of 34 years, James Parsons of Appalachia; daughter, Virginia Beverly and husband Billy of Pound; son, James David Lee Parsons and wife Sandy of San Fernando, CA; two grandchildren, Aidan Beverly and Ethan Parsons; brother, John Barker; sister, Barbara Barker; several nieces and nephews.

Due to Covid-19 services are private.  

The Parsons Family would like to thank In-Home Care, Ballad Health Hospice and LifeCare Ambulance Services — especially her crew Sasha Boggs and Amber Arwood for the care provided during Mary’s time of need.
