CECIL JEFFERSON MULLINS

January 07, 2021

Cecil Jefferson Mullins, “Paw,” 84, of Wise, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 6, 2021.

He attended Living Waters House of Prayer, where he served as a deacon and a singer. Prior to this, he was a deacon at Duncan Gap Freewill Baptist Church for many years. Cecil, was a retired coalminer, a Korean War veteran, and was most known by his gospel singing, where he sang praises to God for over 70 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Sue Jessee Mullins; his parents, Dock and Hattie Mullins; his sister, Pauline Mullins; and his brothers, Ola Gene and Bobby Lee Mullins.

Surviving are his loving wife, Abbie Joyce Mullins; sons, Mark Randall Mullins and wife Loretta, and Ricky D. Mullins Sr. and wife Terry; sister, Edith Davis; brothers, Elmer Mullins and wife Gaye, Ottis Mullins and wife Juanita, Darrell Mullins and wife Lisa, and Kyle Mullins; as well as grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a great-great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Cecil sang a song for many years in which he would recite the lyrics, “I don’t regret a mile I travelled for the Lord”; we are sure this held to be true when he crossed over to the other side.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the medical staff at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN for making his passing a peaceful experience for him and the family.
