School board gets virus update
January 21, 2021
A Jan. 11 health report from Norton Elementary and Middle School nurse Jennifer Hughes states that six students have received a positive COVID-19 test since last reported Dec. 2.
Norton School Board received the report last week.
Since Jan 11, there have been three more notifications of positive COVID-19 tests. Two cases were at NEMS and one was at J.I. Burton High School.
The report also states that 15 individuals have been quarantined for firsthand exposure outside of a school building. One person who entered a school building was send home for a temperature greater than 100 degrees; however, it is unclear if that person is one of the six students who tested positive for the virus.
A healthy Wise County requires great community news.
