Didy you know that Reading is a Superpower? Here at Lonesome Pine Regional Library, we want to celebrate every child’s powers that make them unique! Join us for Children’s Book Week May 3-9, as we explore literature that celebrates every child and helps them find their personal superhero persona!

Coeburn Community Library

Monday, May 3 –Super Hero dress up day! Activities provided based on the book, We’re Different, We’re the Same.

Wednesday, May 5 – Baby Sprouts and Little Pines explore the topic of being a super friend!

Friday, May 7 – Baby Sprouts and Little Pines explore the super friendship of Snoopy and Woodstock from the Peanuts gang.

Monday, May 3 – Little Pines create Superhero masks! (10:00 & 11:30)

Tuesday, May 4 – Adults create Super Mom Bags with Crafty Bookworms (5:30-6:00 and 6:00-6:30)

Wednesday, May 5– Little Pines create their very own superhero cuff! (10:00 & 11:30)

Thursday, May 6: We will search for the ultimate Bingo Hero! (11:00-12:00)

Friday, May 7 – Little Pines color their superhero headbands to complete the look! (10:00 & 11:30)

Monday, May 3 – Come explore the decorated library and complete or take home a paper plate shield craft! Pick up your guide for the week long Scavenger Hunt in St. Paul!

Tuesday, May 4 – Little Pines and Baby Sprouts create a Secret Identity Mask!

Thursday, May 6 – “Reading is a Superpower” bookmark challenge and designated activities for Little Pines and Baby Sprouts.

Friday, May 7 – Scavenger hunt participants receive a surprise craft!

Wise County Public Library

Sunday, May 2 – Library hosts children’s book giveaway day! *While supplies last.

Monday, May 3 – Little Pines and Baby Sprouts will receive super shirts!

Tuesday, May 4 – Pajama story time at 6:30 pm and snacks to go.

Wednesday, May 5 – Bookmarks due for themed contest – Reading is a Superpower!

Thursday, May 6 – Children 6+ learn to draw super heroes (3:45).

Friday, May 7 – Make a super hero mask at (3:45).

Saturday, May 8 – Book Walk in Super Hero costumes at 11 am!

Sunday, May 9 – Scavenger hunt (2:00-4:00) with a Mother’s Day craft at the end!

We hope that by the end of the week, our youngest learners will be feeling extra proud of themselves and their love of reading. Join in on the fun!
