Caring Friends Bazaar planned for Oct. 3-4

September 23, 2021

The September 2021 meeting of Town and Country Garden Club was held at noon at Wise Baptist Church. President Henrietta Dotson presided with 18 members in attendance.
President Dotson greeted everyone and thanked the hostesses Sherry Collie, Kate Hibbitts, Pauletta Hubbard and Beverly Viers.

The blessing was offered by Teresa Adkins and the meeting was recessed for lunch.
When the meeting reconvened, Patsy Stephens presented the program on our NexTrex plastic recycling program. Club members will try to collect at least 500 pounds of plastic bags through March of 2022. This recycled plastic will then entitle the club to an outdoor Trex bench to be placed in our community. Members should collect plastic from home, work, neighbors, friends, etc. and bring it to a monthly club meeting. Patsy distributed a handout which details what plastics are acceptable for this project.
Kate Hibbitts then gave the judges’ report as follows:

President Dotson announced that the club had won three Virginia Federation of Garden Club awards- Blue for Roadside Beautification, Red for the Club Yearbook and Yellow for Civic Beautification. The $60 in prize money will be added to the club treasury.
