GLADYS J. KERSEY
On Thursday, March 17, 2022, Gladys J. Kersey, 93, of Warner Robins, was reunited with her husband, the late Lawrence Harold Kersey in Heaven.
The daughter of the late Garfield and Annie Barker Salyer, Gladys was born on January 13, 1929, in Coeburn, Virginia, and graduated from Coeburn High School. Of the Baptist faith, she was a member of Second Baptist Church and the sunshine leader of the Friendship Sunday School Class. Gladys was also a member of the Robins Ramblers Square Dance Club, 1800 Club Dancers, and the Homemaker’s Club.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her beloved children, Rosemary J. King (Ralph) of Warner Robins, and Deborah A. Belcher (David) of Dacula; grandchildren, L. David King (Elysha) of Arlington, Virginia, and Bryan J. Basamanowicz (Katherine) of Ventura, California; great-grandchildren, Connor and Caitlin King of Arlington, Virginia, and Simon and Frederick Basamanowicz of Ventura, California.
Visitation with Gladys’ family will be Tuesday, March 22 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. The funeral service celebrating her life will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Reverend Mike Slade officiating. Gladys will be laid to rest in Fort Meade, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Gladys J. Kersey to the Cure for Kids Foundation c/o St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
