ANNA LEE TAYLOR

Anna Lee Taylor, 81, of Pound, entered into eternity Sunday April 24, 2022 from Heritage Hall-Big Stone Gap, VA

after an extended illness.

Ann was a Christian and a long standing member of the Indian Creek Freewill Baptist Church. Anna was well known for her work ethic, she worked for over 30 years at the Federated Shop in Pound. She was always cleaning house, cooking or canning.

Ann loved yard work, she mowed the grass, did the weedeating, worked in the garden and cared for her flowers. Ann regularly worked at the church, helping to clean or to decorate for whatever the occasion was. She enjoyed going to church and also going to yard sales. She will be greatly missed.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband Billy Ray Taylor; her parents Earl Slemp, Sr. and Jessie (Yates) Slemp; her sisters Margaret Cantrell, Marie “Tick” Vanover, Leitta “Tiny” Hay; Betty Browning, Norma Cantrell, Faye Large and Jill Collier; and a brother Earl Slemp, Jr.
Survivors include her sisters Janie Meade-North Carolina, Patsy Baker and husband Arnold-Wise, VA, Sally Cantrell and

husband Joel-Pound, Judy Cantrell-Wytheville and Jo Robinson and husband Paul-Mooresburg, TN; a brother Jimmy Slemp and wife Audrey-Pound; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends Mary Collier, Sherry Mullins, Lena Browning, Phyllis Stapleton, Liz Mullins and Eleta Cantrell; her

church family; and a host of friends and loved ones.
The family would like to give a sincere thank you to the staff of Heritage Hall in Big Stone Gap, VA for their care and kindness.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Thursday April 28 in the Baker Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Troy Belcher and Reverend Joel Cantrell officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until time of services.
Burial will follow in the Smith-Gilliam Cemetery on Camp Bethel Road in Wise, VA where family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
