CHARLES "RICK" BRUCE

Charles Richard “Rick” Bruce, hater of vague obituaries, would want you to know that he peacefully went to be with his Lord and savior on August 12, 2022. Never late for anything, he simply needed to get to Heaven before those who loved him most were ready.
Many are known to be a lover or a fighter, Rick was both. He loved his family more than life itself and fought tirelessly against cancer for many years to be by their side until he was incapable of doing so any longer. He built a life to honor and dedicated it to his family, which no man could have been prouder of, friends, work and the JJ Kelly/Central women’s tennis teams.

Rick is preceded in death by his son, Robert Charles (Robbie) and father, Charles Vernon (Jack).
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Roberta Dingus Bruce; daughters, Jessica Mavis and husband Cory and Whitney Tucker and husband Clifton; grandchildren, Ellie and Ezra; mother, Ruth Prater Bruce; sister, Mary Lou Bruce; and many friends and extended family members.

Memorial services for Rick Bruce will be held at 7:00 P.M. Friday, August 19, 2022 at the Wise First Church of God 702 E. Main Street Wise, VA with Pastor Gary Maggard officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. till time of services at 7:00 P.M. Friday at the church.
