FRANKLIN KILGORE

Franklin Delmar “Buddy” Kilgore, 87, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2022 at Norton Community Hospital.

He was of Christian faith, a retired welder and a US Navy Veteran of Korean War.

He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Patricia Ann Riggs Kilgore; a son, Roger Neal Kilgore; two grandchildren, Terry Wayne Kilgore and Shonnah Kilgore; great-grandson, Jacob Roberts; daughter-in-law, Vickie Kilgore; his parents, George Delmar and Essie Belcher Kilgore; three brothers, James Kilgore, Paul Kilgore and Harold Kilgore.

Surviving are two daughters, Debbie Cress and husband Bill and Becky Messer and husband Mike; five sons, Mike Kilgore, Randy Kilgore, David Kilgore and wife Christina, Jimmy Kilgore and Richie Kilgore and wife Tina; fifteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandsons; two brothers, Darell Kilgore and Carlus Kilgore; four sisters, Helen Godfrey, Sue Phipps, Shirley Hollyway and Patsy Connell and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Buddy Kilgore will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 19 at the Sturgill Funeral Home chapel Wise with David P. Kilgore officiating and with military rites. Burial will follow in the Wise Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon till time of services.
