TERESA KENNEDY MOORE

Teresa Kennedy Moore passed to Glory on September 1, 2022 at Piney Grove Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Kernersville, NC.

Teresa was born on 12 March, 1928, to the late Thaddeus DeWitt Kennedy and Melissa Ellen Hall Kennedy. Her family resided in the Caney Ridge community and the Riverview community near Coeburn, VA.

She enjoyed many years of national and international travel as a military wife when accompanying her late husband, T/SGT Bobby Lee Moore, on his military assignments. Upon on his retirement from the US Air Force, they worked together to build a home in Carfax, VA.

She is survived by a brother, Paul Kennedy of Abingdon, a sister, Nita Jesse of Johnson City, TN, and a brother, Donald Kennedy of Bessemer, AL. Her late sister, Rosa Ellen Mullins, formerly resided in Abingdon, VA.

Teresa is survived by three sons: Wayne Moore, who resides in Winston-Salem, NC, Jim Moore who resides in Kingsport TN and Phil Moore who resides in Matthews, NC. She has 8 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.

Teresa lived a Christ centered life and was known for her gentle and loving nature. She touched so many lives during her long and extraordinary life. She kept a positive outlook and a joyous zest for life even in the face of personal tragedies. She was an ordained minister and enjoyed operating her Little White Dove Wedding Chapel in Fort Mill, NC for many years. Her Feeding His Lambs Ministry and Food Bank also assisted many disadvantaged families in Virginia and North Carolina. Teresa was a licensed cosmetologist, beauty parlor owner and operator, published author, and artist. Above all else, she was a homemaker who loved being a wife, mother, and caring for and loving her family.

Interment and private memorial service will be held in Greenwood Cemetery near Coeburn, VA.
