MARTY SERGENT

Marty Ray Sergent, 69, died Friday, July 7, 2023, at Holston Valley Medical Center with his loving family by his side. He served on the Norton Rescue Squad as an EMT for over 25 years and was a lifetime member of the Squad. He loved music and was a founder of the Backroads Band. Marty attended the Glamorgan Chapel in Wise, VA. He was a son of the late Willard Harold Sergent and Pauline Evelyn Steele Sergent.

He is survived by his wife, Debra Sergent of Wise, VA; three sons, Shaun Christopher Sergent and his wife Donna of Norton, VA, Aaron Kyle Sergent and his wife Heather of Wise, VA and Adrian Wayne Sergent and his wife Hollie of Clintwood VA; eight grandchildren, Hannah Grace Sergent, Sareena Faith Sergent, Savannah Hope Sergent, Brie Nicole Sergent, Madison Shae Sergent, Cameron Blake Sergent, Adrian Brody Sergent and Brey Egan Sergent; a brother, Greg Sergent and his wife Teresa of Kingsport, TN; special friends, Dennis Brummitt, Marty Kennedy and John Brummette; special uncle, Nathaniel Hamilton and his wife Lena; several cousins.

A Celebration of Life service was conducted at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, July 9, 2023, at the Glamorgan Chapel in Wise, VA. Rev. Jeff Sams officiated.
