MARILYN SUE GRASHAM DUFF
It is with sadness that we share the passing of Marilyn Sue Grasham Duff on Thursday, October 5, 2023. Sue was born on June 11, 1945 and grew up in Wise, Virginia. She graduated from J.J. Kelly High School where she was editor of the yearbook and salutatorian. Sue graduated from Radford College with a B.S. in Mathematics. Beginning her teaching career in the Greensboro city schools, she retired from GTCC. While she earned awards for excellence in teaching, her greatest source of professional pride came from observing her students’ success in and outside the classroom. She was a member of Jamestown United Methodist Church.
Sue was predeceased in death by her parents, Carl Leslie and Laura Ellen Grasham. She is survived by her husband, Robert Palmer Duff; two sons, Rob and wife Amy of Cornelius, NC; Jason and wife Abigail of Greensboro, NC; two granddaughters, Audrey Laura Duff and Claire Addison Duff; one brother, John Grasham; and one nephew, Keith Grasham of Forest Hill, Maryland.
Visitation is being offered on Thursday, October 12, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home, Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 West Gate City Blvd., Greensboro, NC 27407. This will be followed by a memorial service at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. We invite all family members and friends to join us in paying tribute to Sue’s remarkable life.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Sue’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, are welcomed.
