FARELL DAVID HAYES

Farell David Hayes, 71, entered into eternal rest, Friday, October 27, 2023 at his home. He was born February 12, 1952, in Wise County, VA.

Farell was a retired coal miner of 24 years in the coal industry. He loved going to church, being with his church brothers and sisters, and was a member of the Higher Ground Church, Pastor Billy Carter, of Sandy Ridge, in Coeburn, VA. He is a devoted child of God and enjoyed reading his bible. Special thanks to his son-in-law, Kevin Moore, for taking Farrell dear hunting on October 9.

Farell is preceded in death by his son, Richard Bruce Hayes; father, Bruce Hayes; mother, Ruth Hurd Hayes; sister, Joyce Ann; brothers, L.C. Miller, Hoyt Miller, and Ralph Miller.

Farell is survived by his wife of 38 wonderful years, Glenda Lee Hayes; daughters, Rebecca Ruth Hayes (Mike), Betty Baugus (Gary), and Rebecca Lynn Moore (Kevin); son, Larry Baugus Jr. (Cathy); sisters, Dorothy Gibson, and Jewel White (Danny); eight blessed grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren with one on the way in December, Kelden Moore; special friends, David Slemp, Jeff Lawson, and Alvin Meade; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 31, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Estes Funeral Home in Coeburn, VA. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Billy Carter and Pastor Alvin Meade officiating. Burial will follow in Hayes Cemetery, Coeburn, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
