REBECCA GARVIE
Rebecca (Beckie) Garvie, 62, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 7, 2023, at Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport, TN. Rebecca was born on July 29, 1961, to James (Jim) Fultz and Faye Fultz. She was of the Christian faith.
Rebecca was preceded in death by her father, James (Jim) Fultz, her daughter, Kristin Goodness, her nephew, Joshuah Gardner and his son Leo Gardner.
She is survived by her husband of 21 years, James (Jim) Garvie of Coeburn, Va.; her mother, Faye Fultz of Wise, Va.; her brothers, Tracy Fultz of Norton, Va., David Fultz and his wife Heather of Wise, Va., Robbie Fultz and his wife Melanie of Norton, Va., Jason Fultz and his companion Jeslyn of Wise, Va.; her sisters, Lecia Boivin of Wise, Va. and Julie Rakes and her husband Doug of Inman, S.C.; grandson, Grayson Cox; granddaughters, Maicyn Cox, Madilyn Cox and Gillian Brewer; great grandchild, Henley Peralez and one pending; stepchildren, James Garvie and his wife Nicole of Norwich, Ct., Ryan Garvie and his wife Ellie of Willimantic, Ct., Lauren Garvie of Clyde, NC.; several step grandchildren; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws and out-laws. Special friends, Linda Fuller, Sandra Johnson and Pat Stanley. She loved us all.
Rebecca was a long-time employee of Rose’s Department Store in Wise, Va. where she made many lifelong friends. She also worked at the Buster Brown factory in Wise, Va. and then finished her career at New Vision Optical in Wise, Va.
Becky was a people person. Everywhere she went, she ran into someone she knew and stopped to chat. She enjoyed many adventurous travels and getting out for the day with her husband. If she was home, she would spend hours on the phone providing insight, care and guidance to her many family members and friends.
To know Becky was to love her. She brought joy and kindness to all. She was a bright light that touched so many lives. She will be sorely missed!

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home in Norton, VA. Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Danny Smith officiating. Burial of the cremains will follow in the Laurel Grove Cemetery.
