BETTY BELCHER
Betty “Granny” Belcher, 95, went to be with the Lord on Friday February 2, 2024 from Norton Community Hospital.
Granny attended Hamilton Chapel as long as her health allowed. She was a founding member of Hamilton Chapel quilting ladies, a charter member of the VFW 9600 Ladies Auxiliary, a member of the Pound and Clintwood Historical Society. She was a loving mother, grand-mother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She enjoyed watching the 700 Club, she loved reading her Bible, quilting, crocheting and sewing. Granny was a great cook also, it was hard to pick your favorite dish. She loved taking care of her friends and family, it was just her nature. Granny was happiest when she was spending time with her family.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years William “Bill” Belcher; her parents, Estil and Opal Mullins; her sisters Norma, Mary and Gerrie; and her brothers, Gurvis, Clyde, Dewey, Jimmy, Stuart and Ronnie.
Survivors include her daughters, Paula Mullins-Pound, VA. Cathy Cyphers and husband Greg-Pound, VA; four grandchildren, Seth Maggard-Pound, VA, Russell Cyphers and wife Vanessa- Wise, VA, Brett Maggard and wife Ginger-Sevierville, TN. Caitlin Large and husband Chad- Coeburn, VA. eight great-grandchildren, Isabelle,Ace and Harley Maggard, Braxton and Moses Cyphers, and Isaiah, Michael and Gabriel Maggard; a sister Mildred Gibson-Pound, VA; several nieces, nephews and cousins; her church family; and a host of friends and loved ones to mourn her passing and cherish her memory.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday February 7, 2024 in the Baker Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Burns Robinson, Reverend Randy Carter and Reverend Greg Cyphers officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until time of services. Burial will follow in the Meade Creek Cemetery where Isaiah, Michael, Gabe and Ace Maggard, Braxton and Moses Cyphers, Russell Cyphers, Seth Maggard, Brett Maggard and Chad Large will serve as pallbearers.
