ELLA CARROLL WINEBARGER COLE

Ella Carroll Winebarger Cole, 85, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at Johnson City Medical Center, Johnson City, Tennessee.

She was born in Dickenson County, Virginia, the daughter of the late William and Ethel Carroll Winebarger. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Junior, Lacy, Eugene, Conley, and Arnold Winebarger, and seven sisters, Ruby Winebarger, Beulah Mays, Libby Porter, Hazel Buchanan, Yvonne Johnson, Bernice Evans, and Alta Miller. She was the last surviving member of her family.

Carroll was a charter member and held numerous roles at Riverside Church of God in Coeburn, Virginia; she served as the treasurer and worked with the youth and Bible School.

She is survived by her husband, Billy W. Cole; one daughter, Vickie Cole Oliver and husband, Richard; one son, Billy Lewis Cole; nine grandchildren, Bradley L. Cole and wife, Caitlin, Billy F. Cole, Gabriella Cole, James Oliver, Bracken Oliver, Kristopher Oliver, Christopher Shane Deel, Elizabeth Oliver-Smith and husband, Will, and Olivia Oliver and husband, Joe Cottrell; five great-grandchildren, Colton Cottrell, Reagan Cottrell, Jayce Cottrell, Ingrid Smith, and Ada Smith.

Funeral Services for Ella Carroll Winebarger Cole was conducted at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, February 18, 2024, at Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, Virginia; Rev. Denver Winebarger officiated. Committal Services and Interment were conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 19, 2024, at Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, Virginia. Family and friends met at the funeral home and went in procession to the cemetery, leaving at 10:30 a.m., Monday. Pallbearers were Bradley L. Cole, Billy F. Cole, James Oliver, Bracken Oliver, Jeff Lawson, and Dave Mays. The family received friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at Castlewood Funeral Home, Castlewood, Virginia.
