RONALD GLEN MULLINS, SR

Ronald (Ronnie) Glen Mullins, Sr., passed away peacefully on Friday, April 19, 2024.

Ronnie was born to Ransom and Merle Mullins in Wise Virginia. Ronnie enjoyed helping others and he loved the Lord. Ronnie was known for his BBQ and fried fish when he owned Piggy Went A Smokin. After the restaurant, he went to work at Food City. Everyone who shopped and worked there loved him and he will be missed. Ronnie never knew a stranger; everyone was a friend to him.

He was a member of Lighthouse Family Worship Center, Wise, VA.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Ransom and Merle Mullins; brother, Richard Mullins; and sister, Barbara Mullins Arrington.

Surviving are wife Tammy Mullins and dog Ivy; daughter, Pam Lawhorne and husband Chuck of Tallapoosa, GA; son, Ronald Mullins Jr and wife Michelle of Homer, GA; son, Ryan Mullins and wife Michelle of Hooks Town, PA, son, Billy Sparks and wife Kimie of Wise, VA, daughter Idana Sparks of Jacksonville, FL; 8 grandchildren, Emily Hitchings and husband Cory of Commerce, GA; Alex Mullins and wife Brittany of Commerce, GA; Hunter Cox and husband Blake of Buchanan, GA; Wyatt Mullins, Zach Mullins, Matthew Mullins, Kana Sparks and Yuka Sparks; 3 great-grandchildren, Reed Hitchings, Avery Cox and Josie Mullins. Sisters, Bonnie Ward of Clermont, FL, Brenda Holbrook and husband Sam of Coeburn, VA, and Becky Mullins of Inverness, FL and brother, Roy Mullins and wife Diane of Wise, VA. Sister in-law Sherri Niece and her children Madison and husband Austin Schank and Caitlin Anderson and husband Jason of Johnson City, TN; nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Hospice House in Bristol, TN for their loving care of Ronnie and their kindness to the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Care of Hospice House, 280 Steeles Road, Bristol 37620.

Per Ronnie’s wishes there will not be a funeral service. He did not want anyone to mourn him but rejoice that he was at home with the Lord and his parents.
