JOB OPENING - GENERAL  MAINTENANCE/ PUBLIC WORKS– The City of Norton is currently accepting applications/ resumes for the position of General Maintenance/ public works to perform routine manual labor in the repair and maintenance of city property, including streets, buildings and sidewalks with minimal supervision in varied and seasonal work assignments.  A minimum of a high school education or equivalent and a valid Virginia driver's license are required, with preference given to applicants with a Commercial driver's license.  The salary will be based on qualifications and is accompanied by a benefits package that includes competitive health insurance, funding in the Virginia Retirement System, paid time off including vacation, Holiday, and Sick time.  This position will be held open until filled.
