JOB OPENING- MAINTENANCE/ AUTOMOTIVE MECHANIC– The City of Norton is currently accepting applications/ resumes for the position of Maintenance/ Automotive mechanic.  Duties include the maintenance and repair of all city equipment:  school buses, light and heavy-duty trucks, automobiles, grounds care equipment, earthmoving and utility equipment, and small power equipment.  A minimum of a high school education or equivalent and a valid Virginia driver's license are required, with preference given to applicants with a Commercial driver's license and two years' experience.  The salary will be based on qualifications and is accompanied by a benefits package that includes competitive health insurance, funding in the Virginia Retirement System, paid time off including vacation, Holiday, and Sick time.  This position will be held open until filled.
