Shelters opened due to flooding

Wise County has declared a local State of Emergency due to heavy rainfall and ongoing flash flooding across the region, according to Wise County, Virginia Emergency Management.

To support residents impacted by flooding, emergency shelters will open at 3:00 PM on Saturday, February 15 at the following locations:

Wise Primary School, 323 Railroad Avenue SE, Wise, VA

Carnes Gym, 505 E 5th Street, Big Stone Gap, VA.
