RUTH ANN BOND

WISE, VA – Ruth Ann Bond, 83, died Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at Heritage Hall Healthcare in Wise, Va. She retired from St. Mary’s Hospital as a cafeteria supervisor and later worked at the convent with the nuns. She attended Park Avenue Baptist Church. Her hobbies included quilting, crocheting, sewing and canning. She also enjoyed flowers and gardening.

She was a daughter of the late Melvin Arthur Sargent and Ethel Bentley Sargent. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Clinton Bond, Sr.; five brothers, William David Sargent, Robert E.L. Sargent, Paul Carol Sargent, Charles Sargent and Jennings Bryan Sargent.

She is survived by two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Mathieson of Norton, Va. and Betty Sue Jessee of Norton, Va.; sisters-in-law, Charlene Sargent of Norton, Va. and Dolores E. Sargent of Richmond, Va.; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Robert Hill officiating. Burial will follow later.
