IRENE CRAIGER
March 10, 2025

WISE, VA - Irene Craiger, 96, died peacefully early Saturday morning March 8, 2025, surrounded by her family at her residence. For as long as health allowed her to, she was always eager to go to church whether it was at Red Hill Memorial when she lived in Duffield where she loved singing in the choir or attending Esserville Community when she moved to Wise. She always put God first then her family. We have so many memories of Mom in the kitchen preparing Sunday dinners for all of us. Over the years she has done so many selfless things for all of us and we will forever be grateful! Mom, you may be gone for a while, but you will never be forgotten. You will live on in our hearts with each beat.
She was the daughter of the late Emmitt B Mullins and Eva Stidham Mullins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband George Millard Craiger, eight brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by son Terry Craiger (Barbara) of Coeburn, VA, daughters Glenda Lee (John) of Alexandria, VA and Sharon Cooke (James) of Wise, VA, several grandchildren Cindy Reece-Turner of Trenton, OH, Stephanie Davis of Clarksburg, WV, Priscilla McCoy of Coeburn, VA, Terry Lee Craiger of Bristol, TN, Keith Craiger of Coeburn, VA, Jason Craiger of Coeburn, VA and Robin Coley of Richmond, VA, seventeen great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren, sister Pauline McElroy of Big Stone Gap, VA, several nieces and nephews.
