ASSISTANT COUNTY 

ADMINISTRATOR

     The Lee County Board of Supervisors is accepting applications for the position of Assistant County Administrator.  This position will perform complex professional and administrative work assisting with a broad range of general administrative and management functions of the County government.  This position will serve as the Community Development Director; responsibilities include Zoning enforcement, Planning, Tourism, and serving as the Director of the Economic Development Authority. Additionally, this position includes principal supervision of all County staff in the absence of the County Administrator.  Position will report directly to the County Administrator and will provide reports, recommendations, and updates as requested to the Administrator and the Board of Supervisors. 

     Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of public or business administration including financial and personnel management; experience with leading and managing government and/or business operations preferred; must have or obtain a thorough knowledge of the basic laws, ordinances, and regulations underlying the local government and knowledge of state law related to public procurement.  Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing, strong computer skills, ability to analyze complex information and make detailed decisions, work independently, build relationships with key strategic partners and organize and detail services and programs of County departments.  

     Educational requirements include graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree, preferably supplemented by experience in local government operations.  Salary range of $55,000 - $65,000 depending on qualifications and experience.  Benefits include Virginia Retirement System, health, dental and vision insurance, vacation, sick leave, and holidays.  Please submit County application and resume to Lee County Administrator, Room 111, Lee County Courthouse, P.O.
